Tulip Dolls Minuet has glowing tyrian purple-red flowers with a creamy white base. This is a viridiflora tulip which makes Dolls Minuet ideal for cut flower or to enjoy in the garden.
This variety suited to grow in containers, tubs and in borders. It is traditional to plant tulips in October when the ground starts to cool down. If this is a concern do not worry if you plant them earlier or later as they will still grow well. Tulips benefit from using bulb starter when first planting and ii is ideal to loosen the soil to a depth of 20cms before planting because that will be helpful to root development.
Plant tulip bulbs 15cms deep and 10cms apart in free draining soils. In the heavier soils add grit and rotted humus material to give extra drainage. Look really good if planted in groups of 10 or more.
Protect early growth in the spring from slugs and snails and remove dead heads after flowering to get the best from them. Ideal foods are well rotted manures, Tomato feed and bone meal
