Fringed tulip Burning flame we are so pleased to be able to offer as it is such a terrific tulip. The flowers of Burning flame are yellow with a white flame. Will look stunning when planted in containers or in the garden. Plant with Alliums and late flowering daffodils for a superb spring show.

Cultivation Instructions:

In our nursery we grow a lot of fringed tulips because they are striking. The flowers of fringed tulips need to be seen to be enjoyed, each flower is edged with crystal like fringes. These tulips work really well when planted in tubs, pots and containers but also hold their own when planted in the garden. They are most effective when planted in groups of 10 or more. Before planting ensure the soil is cultivated to a depth of 15 to 20cms and is free draining, in the heavier soils add grit and rotted humus material to give extra drainage. Plant bulbs with the pointed bit upwards at a depth of 10-15cms (deeper in sandy/loose soils) and 10cms apart. When planting in containers planting depths and distances are governed by container size and the number of bulbs you want to put in.

Plant tulips anytime from Late September through to early December, they prefer to be planted into soils that are cooling down after the summer.

Care tips:

Plant Fringed tulips with late flowering varieties such as Scented daffodils and Alliums. 

Remember to lift tulips at the end of the season. Only the big bulbs should be kept to flower for the following year.

Tulips are often treated as annuals as flowering performance the following year is never as good.
