Description

Sweet corn Incredible is a sugar-enhanced mid-season variety. This is a very reliable, heavy cropping variety and as the name suggests Sweet corn incredible has an incredible flavour! The plants show a good tolerance of common rust helping to keep plants healthy during wet summers

Tender variety which produces cobs of superb sweet flavour and texture, with approximately 14 to 16 rows of delicious golden kernels. As this is a super variety, it will need much more moisture to ensure successful germination. It is an easy to grow extra tender and sweet variety and has better vigour than most others.

Sweet Corn is a tender vegetable that needs a good summer to produce at its best. Given a sheltered spot and using early varieties, this delicious vegetable is now quite at home in northern counties. Sweet Corn is at its most tasty when cooked as close to picking time as possible

Sweet corn are ideal when grown with other vegetables such as runner beans and broad beans

Nutritional values: Good source of vitamins A, B and C. Gluten-free and a good supply of fibre and protein.

Cultivation Instructions:

Sowing Indoors:  Early sowing from March to April can be made into pots or modules under glass at 21°C.  Seeds that have been grown in pots under glass should be gradually hardened off before transplanting into the plot once all risk of frost has passed.

Sow/Plant outdoors: Plant seeds direct into soils outside from April to May. Cultivate soils to a depth of 15-20cms and dig in some well rotted humus matter to provide food during the growing season. Sow 2 seeds per sowing station. Do not plant in rows, but plant in blocks , spacing plants 45cm (18″) apart each way to aid pollination by the wind.

Do not plant if soils are waterlogged.

Handy Tips:

Cobs are ready to harvest when the end tassels turn brown. Delicious eaten straight from the plant or cooked with a little melted butter.

Growing Information:

Soil type: Free draining light soils that are humus rich.

Aspect: Full sun but also ok in partial shade.

Position: Prefer open planting in vegetable beds.

Harvest: August onwards.
