Description
The skin colour of this shallot is red as the name suggests and as such they are ideal for using in salads. They are also a very useful shallot for all types of cooking/use in the kitchen. This variety will store very well, plant the bulbs from Feb-April and before planting keep them in a cool airy place. Plant the tips of the bulbs above soil level and at 15cm intervals with rows about 30cms apart. The bulb size is 7/14cm.
Aspect: Full sun to semi shade.
Soil type: Free draining light soils if possible. Keep soils fertile and moist during the growing period
