Description

Nectaroscordum tripedale has beautiful bell shaped, nodding flowers that are a lovely pink.

This variety has up to 30 flowers on a stem. Once listed with the alliums but now reclassified as ‘nectaroscordum’. Nectaroscordum tripedale have strongly keeled linear leaves and tall erect naked stems and look superb grown with the taller varieties of alliums such as Purple Sensation and cristophii.  They are also very good naturalisers so you will get them coming back repeatedly each year if fed during the growing phase.

Nectaroscordum tripedale is known for attracting bees, beneficial insects and other pollinators as it has nectar/pollen rich flowers.  Seed pods become erect as flowers fade.

Cultivation Instructions

They will work well in semi shaded to full sun areas. The best soils to grow them in are free draining and fertile and will benefit from adding bonemeal to the soil.  In heavier soils add grit or well rotted humus when cultivating the soil to help drainage. Cultivate soils to a depth of 20cms and plant bulbs 10cms deep and 8-10cms apart.
