Mixed Spicy leaves are ideal for salads. They will allow you to grow your own tasty colourful mixed spicy leaves that are packed full of nutrients. There is nothing quite as special and rewarding as growing your salads in your own garden. Home produced salads can be picked fresh and used with your meals.

This salad leaf mixture contains : Rocket (25%) , Mizuna (25%) , Mustard Giant Red (25%) , Mustard Southern Giant (25%)

Nutritional values: High in Vitamin C and rich in antioxidants.

Cultivation Instructions:

Sowing Indoors: Grow salad leaves in deep seed trays in the greenhouse or on windowsills. Sow the seeds thinly at 0.5cm (1/4in) deep. Keep the soil moist and sow a succession of seed every 2-3 weeks for a continuous supply of fresh young leaves. Soils should be kept moist and as such cut the leaves from each plant leaving some so that they re-grow. By doing this you will often get 3-4 cuttings per plant.

Sow/Plant outdoors:  Sow thinly in a prepared seed bed 0.5cm (1/4in) deep in rows 25-30cm (10-12in) apart. Keep soil moist . Sow seed in succession every 2-3 weeks for a continuous supply of fresh young leaves. Soils should be kept moist and as such cut the leaves from each plant leaving some so that they re-grow. By doing this you will often get 3-4 cuttings per plant.

Do not plant if soils are waterlogged.

Handy Tips:

Early autumn and winter sowings can be made in containers in a cold glasshouse. Or if short of space during the year, sow seeds thinly into containers on a sunny patio.

Sow with other seed salad crops for a variety of tastes.

Soil type: Free draining light soils that are humus rich.

Aspect: Full sun but also ok in partial shade.

Position: Can also be grown in seed tray or similar as well as open planting in vegetable beds.
