Description
Herb Basil, British. A specially selected variety for growing outdoors. Ideal for growing in the UK, herb basil is very robust with bright green leaves that are more resistant to the cold weather. A traditional intense flavour which is ideal to cook with.
Nutritional values: Vitamin A and beta carotene.

Cultivation Instructions:
Sowing Indoors: Can be sown all year round in pots on windowsill or similar. Sow 0.5cm deep, in small pots of compost, lightly covering the seed with a a sprinkling of compost. Water well and place at a temperature of 15-20C. Harden of the large seedlings and plant outside as noted below.
Sow/Plant outdoors: Sow outdoors May to June. Cultivate soils to a depth of 10cms and rake the top surface to provide a fine crumb to plant the seeds into. Plant seeds into shallow drills and thin the seedlings to 15-30cm as they grow.
Water in well and keep fed during the growing season.
Do not plant if soils are waterlogged.
Care Tips:
Young plants can be sown and grown on a windowsill all year or pot up a clump in the autumn and keep on the windowsill for winter.
