Description
White Lion is a superb division 4 double daffodil with flowers that are a pure double white and the inner segments interspersed with pale yellow fragments. A favourite variety of ours! White lion is often used in our container displays and planted in groups in the garden.
Cultivation instructions
Daffodils are really versatile because they can be grown in containers as well as being suitable for many soil types. Grow them in areas of the garden that are free draining and importantly receive at least a few hours of sun a day. Double daffodils provide an abundance of colour in your garden during the spring. Cultivate soils to a depth of 20cms and plant bulbs 15cms deep and 10-15cms apart. The best effect can be achieved by growing in groups of 10 or more. In heavier soils add grit and humus matter during cultivation to help with drainage and plant bulbs slightly shallower. In lighter soils ensure they have plenty of humus matter which will provide food and also retain water. Feed during the leaf and flower stage to ensure the bulbs are fully nourished to provide the following years growth.
Protect the early growth in the spring from slugs and snails and remove dead heads after flowering to get the best from them. If using as a cut flower remove flower stems carefully and continue to feed the foliage.

Soil type: Free draining fertile soils that are fertile.
Ideal foods: Well rotted humus matter, Bone meal and tomato food as they contain high levels of phosphate and potash.
Tip: Do not cut off or tie up the leaves as this will not allow the bulbs to take in nutrients for the following years growth.
