This is a superb mixture of colours of blanda varieties of blue shades, pink and white flowers. The mixture of colours of blanda varieties are just superb. We hand mix each pack so we know you get all the colours. Very good for naturalising. Ideal for planting between shrubs to fill up the spaces. They are also very good for pots when grown in conjunction with daffodils, tulips, gladioli or dahlias.
Blanda’s are low growing and ideal for planting in the shady areas of the garden, under trees or in containers. They can be left alone to naturalise for many years because they are self seeding. Blandas will provide an even bigger display after a few years because they are low growing and will quickly naturalise in any area. Grow in free draining soils that are humus rich. Cultivate soils to a depth of 10cms and plant corms as per the instructions below.
Ideal for planting between shrubs to fill up the spaces and they work really well when planted with Trilliums and anemone nemerosa. They will also make an impact when planted with other varieties of Anemone blanda.
Soak the bulbs for 5-8hrs in warm water before planting, keep well watered in their first growing year to help them develop strong roots. Using bulb starter when first planting will help them to establish for future years flowering.
Keep well fed during the growing season and if possible mulch borders with well rotted manure or compost over the winter.
