Description
This broad bean Aquadulce variety has all the attributes of Aquadulce, the pods are a little longer but are more prolific and are good for freezing. Broad bean Aquadulce Claudia is a very popular broad bean to grow and taste fantastic.
Beans are ideal when grown with other vegetables such as Peas and carrots.

Cultivation Instructions:
Sowing Indoors: N/A
Sow/Plant outdoors: Cultivate soils to a depth of 15-20cms and rake the top surface to provide a fine crumb to plant the seeds into. Sow seeds outside from February to March or in October to November. Draw out seed drills direct into the growing site 5cm(2in) deep in rows, placing the seeds 10-15cm (4-6in) apart, space between rows should be 60cm (24in) apart.
Early spring sowings may benefit from being sown under cloches.
Do not plant if soils are waterlogged.
Care Tips:
If necessary thin seedlings to 10cm(4in) apart . When the first pods have set pinch out the top 6cm (2 1/2in) to help discourage black fly. Harvest once pods become filled with succulent tasty young beans.
Bean plants are nitrogen fixers. When cropping is over, cut plants down and dig in as a green manure.

Soil type: Free draining light soils that are humus rich.
Aspect: Full sun but also ok in partial shade.
Position: Prefer open planting in vegetable beds.
Harvest: June-July.
